The Greatest Love Story

Close your eyes and imagine the greatest love story -- the most romantic, the most grand, the one that defeated all odds -- and you are the main character.

Now imagine, the guy chose you.

Over a thousand lifetimes he would have chosen you; over and over again. He waited: he was patient and he respected you. Despite your fears and your doubts, he stayed. He stayed through the storms and the hurricanes. He stayed even though he's seen your shameful failures and flaws. He loved you, promised to walk with you through all seasons of life, and he never went back on his word. He never forces anything, he trusts you, and he is faithful alway. He's constantly encouraging you, pushing and helping you to be the best version of yourself. He believes in you even when you don't, and you know, that you wouldn't be the person you are today if it weren't for him.

Doesn't that sound like a dream? It sounds almost too good to be true; simply, too perfect. Maybe you're reading this and a person immediately comes to mind. You're already living in the bliss of romance. But maybe you're sitting there and you're hoping that this was real. Because this love story is still very much a dream.

But whether or not you are single, dating, or married (or maybe it's complicated), know that there is a love story written specifically for you -- written even before the beginning of time.

If there is anything that my current season of singleness has taught me, it is that I am already in a relationship with the one who matters the most.

I am a part of the greatest love story on earth, and the guy chose me.

What am I talking about exactly? The Good News: the Gospel.

Romance novels and K-dramas are great and all, but they are simply feel-good stories. They are fairytales that are never going to happen. Because the truth is, no man is perfect, and no love story ever truly has a last page or episode.

There is one man, however, who is perfect. One who would leave his heavenly kingdom to come down and save the day. One who searched long and far for you. One who loves you beyond words can explain. One who always waits with open and loving arms.

One who gave his life for you.

The Bible is not only a book of many stories, it is, in fact, one giant love story: the greatest of all romances.

God is so madly in love with you that He put everything aside and came down to earth just so that He could have a relationship with you.

And no matter how many times you walk away from Him or take your eyes off of Him, He patiently waits and continues to call out your name. He waits for you to turn around and start walking back to Him. But even then, when He sees you in the distance walking back in guilt and shame, He runs towards you and lifts your head up high. He forgives you and He clothes you in His best robes.

God is so good and so in love with you. He simply wants you to come to Him and experience all the love, peace, and joy that He can offer.

The best and most important relationship of your life can be a reality for you. You just have to say yes.

"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."

- Romans 10:9-10
